ŽIVAAAAAAA ŽIVA YOUR ART‼️‼️‼️ HHHHHHHH YOUR ART !!!!!!!!!!!!
ok there are SO many things but definitely one of the most distinctive to me is the way you draw eyes. your eyes are always big and open and expressive and almost have this really honest, vulnerable quality to them? like you communicate so much with just the eyes alone and that is so impressive to me. i’m thinking especially of that ladrien comic you did for your acrocat au, the panel after he’s grabbed ladybug’s hand and is just LOOKING at her with those desperate, longing eyes. like. ugh eyes okay
YOUR CHARACTER DESIGN HOLY COW. LIKE. I AM OBSESSED WITH EVERY DESIGN YOU CREATE. i think your fox miraculous designs for the whole crew was the first piece i ever saw from you and i don’t know how many hours i’ve spent just staring at those designs. they’re all so simultaneously original and creative and also so true to each character’s style and spirit! which is! makes me insane!!! how do you do this!
you’re also just a literal master at visual storytelling. i want you to direct every movie i want you to storyboard every show. the shots you choose are so interesting and i am always immediately drawn in and want to know more!! i’m thinking of your pinocchio au drawings and how there was this rising tension and discordance until the final reveal of the eyes (eyes!!!!!) at the end and it made me feel so intrigued and unsettled at the same time,, and you did that without any music! or audio at all!! just. your mastery of visual storytelling is OFF THE CHARTS
i could genuinely go on and on (your technical skill. your originality. your sense of mood/tone/lighting) but i’m not gonna crowd your inbox anymore ajsndkdnd just know i love your art so so much it makes me insane <3333
Anna do you want me to explode into tiny heart shaped confetti???
Thank you for the compliments on how expressive my eyes are AAAAAAA I love you. But even so I have no idea if I can pull off Anna™’s superior “in love with the power of a thousand suns” puppy eyes. just 🥺🥺
As a thank you I at least tried. Here. It’s nowhere near yours because I have to use the whole face and body to get near the result you get with just the eyes but it’s a start...
thank you for the compliments on the fox hero designs too. i think i drank some magic water when i drew that because i have no idea how i pulled it off. i’m still proud of them so so much!
please don’t call me a master of storytelling whaaa 😭😭 but thank you!! i’ve often been very intrigued by silent cartoons and comics. also i am such a sucker for dramatic angsty stuff like you probably already know and i just like being a meanie. but thank you!! I want to make original comics one day and these sort of compliments just mean so much!!!
You are so nice to meee!!! waaaahhh!!!!! also you also started writting my name with a ž! I feel blessed 😭😭
#that feeling when foreigners go out of their way to spell your name correctly ๐·°(৹˃̵﹏˂̵৹)°·๐#for no other reason but because they're nice ‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·˚#answered#ask#ml#miraculous ladybug#adrien agreste#plagg#sketch#my art

Topsy Turvy (3)
By popular demand and my current Ladrien fixation I bring to you part 3 of this fluff fest. Enjoy!
---
Plagg was this close to throwing an extra large wheel of cheese at Adrien’s head. After Ladybug left last night he had been skipping around his room with the biggest, dorkiest grin imaginable. Every once in a while he would stop to contemplate how hurt his friend Marinette would be about this before he perked up again. Now he was standing in a pile of clothes trying to pick out an outfit for the movies tonight.
"What about this?" Adrien held up a black button up. "It's nice but understated and it would match Ladybug’s costume. Or is it weird to coordinate? Or maybe too fancy for a movie date? I have a black v-neck that may be better. What do you think?"
"It all looks the same to me," Plagg answered, not bothering to look up from the comic book he was reading.
"Plagg! Come on! Just give me an opinion. This is a big deal for me!"
Plagg grinned, a wicked thought entering his brain. "Oh I just don't know, Adrien. I don't wear clothes so I don't have the best source of judgement. Why don't you ask the designer friend of yours? I'm sure she would love to help you."
"That's actually a great idea--hey, wait a second--Plagg!" Adrien torn the comic out from under him like a tablecloth, "I can't ask Marinette for help regarding my date with Ladybug! Are you mad? Did you forget that she's the one that I need to reject after this?"
"Oh? Is she?" Plagg feigned ignorance. This was just too good to pass up. If only this poor little kitten of his knew the truth. He was rejecting the same girl he was going on a date with. He had to mess with him a little.
"Yes, Plagg, I have gone over this at length already." Adrien sighed, with a shake of his head, "Just work with me here and say button up or v-neck."
"Nude,"
Adrien tossed the comic back down. "You’re not funny."
"Really? I'm pretty sure I'm hilarious. You are just too young to appreciate my humor."
"Yeah, sure, that's the problem." Adrien looked between the two shirts he had before tossing the one aside. "V-neck. Definitely the v-neck."
He cradled the shirt close to him and Plagg had a moment of sincerity. Adrien was really happy about this date. He had never seen him so excited before. For decades Plagg had watched humans fall in love over and over. He could never really understand it since kwamis were incapable of the romantic love humans felt but he knew what familial love felt like. He knew that he loved Adrien as his chosen. If romantic love was anything like that then he wouldn't spoil the experience for Adrien anymore today. Tease him about any funny slip ups he may experience later, yes. But for today he would let the boy be. He deserved it.
---
"You really didn't have to see me off for my date, Alya." Marinette said, "I'm fine."
"You know I had to come. It's your first date with Adrien. No way was I gonna miss this." Alya kicked her feet excitedly, "I wanna hear all about it when you get back."
"What? Are you just gonna hang out here until I get home? Are you that interested in how my date goes that you’re going to wait up for me?"
"Duh, was that not obvious?"
"Well then," Marinette transformed, "how do I look?"
"You look like Ladybug."
"Right…" Ladybug looked at herself in the mirror before pulling the ribbons out of her hair to let it loose. "There, a little more casual. Right?"
"Sure, girl, a superhero wearing her hair down. Casual to the max." Alya rolled her eyes. "Now get going or you'll be late."
"Okay, see you later." She jumped through the trapdoor of her balcony and was off. Her heart was thundering loud in her chest the closer she got to the theater. She stopped at the building across from it and searched the faces heading inside. Then like a beacon under the neon lights she saw him. Adrien.
Okay. Be cool. Don't do anything stupid.
She fixed her hair and jumped off the building. She landed in her best hero pose across the street from him. When she looked up he was staring at her in awe.
Nailed it!
She then promptly tripped on the curb crossing the street.
"Watch it!" Adrien caught her by the arms before she could collide with the concrete, "You okay?"
"Yeah! Thanks! I've taken much worse tumbles than that." she laughed it off. "Guess you saved me this time."
"Uh yeah, I guess," Adrien fidgeted with his ring, "You look really nice. You're wearing your hair differently."
"Heroes gotta let their hair down sometimes, huh?" she chuckled to herself. "Consider it my unofficial off-duty look. Not that I'm ever really off-duty but you get what I mean."
"I get what you mean." They stood for a moment just staring at one another in mutual lovestruck awe before either of them remembered they were here for a date.
“Should we head in?” Adrien pointed back to the theater.
“Right, yes, we should do that.” they wandered inside and immediately gazes were drawn as they made their way to purchase their tickets. Despite her arguing that she could buy her own ticket Adrien insisted on getting it for her. She played truce and bought the snacks instead.
They followed the crowd into the theater. A few people stopped Ladybug to get some pictures or an autograph. Adrien patiently waited with the snacks as he scanned the room for good seats. It was surprisingly packed for such a late showing. “Uh Ladybug,” Adrien called for her attention, “I’m gonna go save us some seats so you come by whenever you’re done.”
“I’ll be right there. Thanks.” she gave him a thumbs up before going back to her fans. She really didn’t mind when fans came up to her, she was always honored, but she was here for a date. It didn’t feel right to let him go off on his own so she could take pictures.
The lights started to go down and she used that as her excuse to take her seat. She edged past the other theater goers and sat down in the chair next to Adrien. “Sorry about all that,” she whispered as the movie started, “You have my attention for the rest of the night. Promise.”
“Don’t worry. I totally get it. People stop me when I’m out with friends from time to time.” Adrien assured her. “I’m just glad to be here with you at all.”
Marinette blushed red hot and she found herself thankful for the dark theater. “I’m happy to be here with you too.”
The movie started in ernest and they drew their attention to it. Every once in a while she would catch him watching her instead of the movie or he would spot her staring at him. They’d quickly look away and smile, trying to keep their attention on what was happening on the screen. At one point she went to put her arm on the arm rest between them and nearly jumped out of her seat when she fully laid her hand overtop Adrien’s without noticing.
“Sorry,” Adrien blurted out but was quickly shushed by the audience, “sorry,” he whispered in a quieter voice, “you can have it.”
“No, no, you can have it--I just--”
“No. Really, I’ve been hogging it all night. You take it.”
“I don’t need it. Please, just take it--”
“One of you had better take it and shut up already.” someone behind them hissed.
“Sorry,” Ladybug squeaked. She moved to put her arm back and bumped into Adrien who was doing the same thing. They giggled for a moment. Then Adrien rested his arm on it with his palm facing up.
His eyes met hers with a shy, expectant smile. Oh! She bit her lip and laid her arm on top of his and interlaced their fingers together. Tonight was the best night ever just for this!
They stayed holding hands for the rest of the movie and when they got up to leave they were still interlocked. Neither wanted to let the connection break just yet. They walked out of the theater and into the cool night air.
“This was a lot of fun.” Ladybug said, “I’m glad you agreed to come out with me.”
“I’m still surprised you asked me out in the first place.” Adrien said, his gaze traveled down to their interlaced hands, “This was really nice.”
“Do you have a ride home?” Ladybug asked.
“No chauffeur tonight,” Adrien looked down the street then back at her, his voice dropping low to a whisper, “Between you and me, I’m not supposed to be out here.”
“How rebellious!” Ladybug scoffed, with a mock scandalized face, “Did you sneak out to come here tonight? I don’t know, Adrien. That’s top tier felon behaviour. I may have to turn you in.”
“Oh please, Ladybug, have mercy.” he pleaded with the same level of theatrics, “I meant no harm! Don’t send me to the slammer!”
“Oh alright,” Ladybug giggled, “I can’t throw a pretty face like yours in jail. You wouldn’t last ten minutes with all those other big bads. All those jaywalkers and litterbugs, they’d tear you apart.”
“You underestimate me, I could have control of the yard in five.”
“I bet you could.” she shook her head. “So since you don’t have a ride home did you need a lift? I can get you back lickety split.”
“How about instead of a lift you give me an escort.” Adrien asked, his big green puppy dog eyes blinking down at her, “As fun as the movie was I didn’t really get to talk to you which is the one thing I wanted to do most tonight.”
“How can I say no to that?” she squeezed his hand tighter, “I want to get to know you better too.”
They left the theater on foot back towards Adrien’s house. Neither had anywhere to be and no rush to end their date just yet so they kept the pace slow and let themselves take the long way around.
“Let me start simple,” Adrien said, “What is your favorite color?”
“Pink. But not like a hot neon pink, more of a soft sunset pink. What about you?”
“Blue. It’s just so relaxing to look at in almost all its forms. I think my favorite shade would have to be a soft sky blue though.”
“That’s nice. Alright, my question.” Ladybug pondered it for a moment, “What is your most treasured memory?”
“Wow. Starting off strong huh? I feel kinda ridiculous with my color question.”
“Don’t be. Sorry. I should have said something a little simpler, shouldn’t I?”
“No. I like your question. I just need to think about it. Gimme a second.” Adrien said as he started to think. He was really thinking this through. “I think my most treasured memory would be Christmas Eve when I was six.”
“Not Christmas morning?”
“The morning was great but I’ll never forget the night prior.” Adrien’s eyes took on a far away look, “It was as basic as Christmas Eve’s go. I wanted to stay up so I could meet Santa. My parents said that he wouldn’t come if I stayed up though and sent me off to bed. It was around midnight and I heard a noise coming from downstairs. I assumed it was Santa so I swung out of bed and raced out of my room to catch him before he could leave.
“I got down there and I found presents under the tree but no Santa. There was a light on in the kitchen and I figured he must be getting his milk and cookies. I go up to the door and push it open. There’s no Santa in the kitchen but there are my parents. My mom is sitting on the island munching on a gingerbread cookie, father is looking in the fridge, there’s quiet Christmas music playing on the radio next to them.
“My father closes the fridge and holds up a piece of mistletoe he must have hidden in there. Mom laughs and when he went in to kiss her she held up the gingerbread man so he kissed that instead. Father looked grumpy and bit the head off. Mom gasped and was all like, “I cannot believe you decapitated Mister Gingy! He had three kids you monster!” which made me laugh. Of course now they know I’m there and father picks me up and tells me I should be in bed and all that stuff. I wasn’t listening and instead I grabbed the mistletoe and held it up to mom. I meant it so my parents could kiss but instead they both kissed my cheeks instead. We stayed up for at least another hour eating cookies and drinking warm milk and hot coco before I fell asleep and they put me back to bed.”
“That is so cute!” Ladybug gushed, “I can see it all in my head. Squishy faced kiddie Adrien sneaking out of bed and eating cookies with his parents. That’s a really sweet memory.”
“I’ll never forget it.” Adrien sighed. For a moment he looked so sad and Marinette wondered if maybe she shouldn’t have asked him. The memory of his mom probably hurt to think about. “What about you? What’s your most treasured memory?”
Now that was a tough one. She couldn’t really go into childhood stories since it would give away too much as to her identity. It was then she thought of the perfect story. “There is one memory I hold really close to my heart.” she said.
“I was on patrol one evening by myself. It was raining but I didn’t want to go home cause I was going through some stuff emotionally and I didn’t want to be cooped up. So I’m running and running and I almost slip off the roof. I realize I should take a break so I huddle under this awning of this closed cafe to catch my breath and see if the rain lets up. I’m waiting for maybe five minutes and because I’m not moving my emotions from before I starting to catch up to me. I’m on the verge of breaking down when out of nowhere Chat Noir lands on the sidewalk in front of me. I say land but he more or less faceplanted. He has a box covered in a plastic bag to keep it dry that he’s holding off the ground. He pulls himself up like he didn’t just have an intimate meeting with the concrete and walks over to me like it is the most casual thing in the world. Now mind you, I was not expecting to see him. I didn’t tell him I was coming out here nor did he have any idea where I was but he found me nonetheless.
“He huddles under the awning with me and takes the plastic bag off the box. I realize at this point it is a wrapped present. I ask him what this is supposed to be for and he tells me that since we don’t know when each other’s birthdays are he was going to pick a random day to give me a birthday present. And apparently this rainy evening was that day. I tried telling he didn’t need to but he insisted so I take the present and unwrap it. When I tell you, this idiot actually gifted me a black cat onesie with a cat ear hood and little toe beans on the feet. I started laughing and asked if he had a matching ladybug onesie and he told me he did. I start laughing harder and I can tell he thinks that I’m laughing at him so I quickly assure him I’m not. I tell him I really love the gift and I give him a hug. To him he probably thinks that he just gave me a nice present but in reality he pulled me back from a really sad place without even knowing it.
“Of course the second I got home I put the onesie on and started thinking of a birthday present I could get for him. I wanted it to be perfect as a sort of thank you for cheering me up when I was in a really bad mood. I never told him just how much that one little present, that one encounter, helped me but it did. I like to think about it whenever I get in a bad mood. Remembering his mop of drenched hair and that big expectant smile never fails to cheer me up.”
When she looked back at Adrien he looked close to tears. “Oh hey, are you okay? Did I say something? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” he wiped at his eyes with his free hand, “It’s just, your friendship with him is great. I think that the next time you see him you should tell him how much that meant to you. I’m sure it would make him really happy.”
“I think I will,”
They got to Adrien’s house and they both stood frozen on the sidewalk. “Guess it’s time to say goodbye now.”
“Guess so,” Adrien stared up at the tall stone walls. “All good thinks must come to an end.”
“There are always more good times to come though.” Ladybug said, “Speaking of which, would you be interested in going on a second date sometime?”
“I would love to.” Adrien answered with a bright smile. “How do I get a hold of you?”
“I’ll come to you.” she let go of his hand to wrap around his waist. With a flick of her wrist she sent her yo-yo up and pulled them off the ground. They swung into his room and she deposited him back down safely. “Goodnight, Adrien. I had a wonderful time and I’ll be by to see you again soon.”
“Goodbye Ladybug. Tonight was...it was perfect.” He leaned in closer or maybe it was Marinette that leaned in but one of them leaned in. Then just as quickly they withdrew. Arms hugged close to their sides.
“I should get going,” Ladybug stumbled back towards the window. She poised to throw her yo-yo but she made the mistake of taking one final look back at Adrien. He was watching her with such a soft and loving expression. She couldn’t just end it like this.
She rushed back to him and kissed his cheek. “See you later, bye!” she fully vaulted herself out the window the next instant and booked it as fast as she could back home. She dropped down onto her balcony. Her heart was beating fast and her face ached from how hard she was smiling.

To Save a Loved One
(Previously titled A Ladrien Story)
This is a little fic I wrote, inspired by @buggachat‘s comic that went round tumblr a few weeks back. Check it out here!
As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to write something for it. And well I'm not the best at writing fluff, and there's a bit of angst, but here it is!
NB: This fic was first posted (and the rest of it planned) between season two and three of Miraculous Ladybug.

‘Darkwings, fall.’
Gabriel’s low voice echoed around the room as magic swirled around him, reverting him to his civilian self. The slight shake in his hands was the only thing that betrayed the rage and frustration simmering inside of him. That and the darkness in his eyes. Nathalie took a step back. She had never seen him like this before.
‘S-Sir?’ she stammered when those eyes pierced hers. A shiver ran down her spine. She had never seen him so cold before.
He turned away from her and walked over to the large window giving a breathtaking view of Paris.
She held her breath and clutched her clipboard tight to her chest as tension filled the room.
‘We need a change of plan.’ Despite his soft voice, Gabriel’s words rang sharply around the room. ‘I can’t keep mindlessly controlling whoever happens to fly into a rage.’ He turned to look at her. She sucked in her breath as those dark eyes pierced hers. ‘I need a target, someone specific who will be sympathetic to our cause.’
‘Who do you have in mind, sir?’
Gabriel held her gaze a moment longer before sighing and looking away. His shoulders slumped. ‘I don’t know,’ he muttered.
Nathalie’s mind whirred as she thought of possible candidates.
‘To clarify, you want someone who understands you; someone who knows the pain of losing someone close to them.’
Gabriel nodded.
Sir, with all due respect, even if you did find someone, you’d need to explain your situation to them to garner their sympathy.’
‘And therein lies my dilemma,’ he smiled bitterly. ‘I need someone who I can trust. Someone who won’t betray me if secrets do spill.’
‘So you don’t need some random person… you need an ally,’ she finished slowly.
‘In a sense,’ Gabriel’s voice turned calculating. ‘I need someone I can manipulate into working for me.’
Nathalie’s eyes widened as a name came to her.
‘Sir…’ she hesitated.
He looked at her and raised an eyebrow. ‘What is it? You have someone in mind?’
Her eyes flicked to the floor before meeting Gabriel’s gaze.
‘I do, sir.’
‘Well…?’
‘The only person I can think of who meets all your requirements is… Adrien, sir.’ Nathalie swallowed as those deep grey eyes bore into hers.
‘You’d have me use my own son?’ His voice was a deadly whisper.
Nathalie swallowed. ‘It was just an idea, sir. Forget I said it. Give me more time, I’ll come up with a diff-’ she was cut off with a wave of Gabriel’s hand.
He slowly lowered his hand and put it behind his back, turning back to the window as he did so.
Nathalie bit her lip. She shouldn’t have said anything.
The air grew cold around them as they stood motionless in the room. Nathalie hardly dared to breathe. The silence was disturbed only by the fluttering of white butterflies awaiting their inevitable dark fate.
Gabriel turned his head ever so slightly to the side; the light from the window illuminating his silhouette but shrouding his face in darkness.
‘Nathalie, bring Adrien to my office,’ he said in a quiet but cold voice. ‘I wish to speak with my son.’
‘Yes, sir.’
~~~
A Few Weeks Later…
Stupid, stupid. He was being stupid! Adrien stormed down the street as tears threatened to spill down his cheeks. He wiped them away angrily. He shouldn’t be crying dammit! Stupid.
But he couldn’t get those words out his head.
You are a disappointment to the Agreste name.
You are worthless to me.
I thought you were my son?
I believed in you.
What would your mother think?
What would your mother THINK?
W H A T W O U L D Y O U R M O T H E R T H I N K ?
His father didn’t deserve his tears. He knew that. And yet… Adrien stifled a sob. He wanted his father to shut up. He wanted his thoughts to SHUT UP!
‘Adrien,’ Plagg said over his shoulder, ‘You need to calm down. How about some chee-’
‘I’m FINE,’ he snapped. He cringed. Plagg was only trying to help. But he felt so angry.
How dare his father use his mother against him like that. Like…like he… shut up! He willed his mind to please stop thinking. He wanted it all to stop. To stop, dammit! STUPID.
‘ADRIEN!’
A cry from behind caused him to freeze.
‘Marinette?’ He turned around, thinking he’d heard his classmate call him. However instead he was met with an akuma fluttering in his face. He yelped and stumbled backwards, trying and failing to think happy thoughts.
A yoyo came out of nowhere, so close to his face that he could feel the wind as it passed, and snapped up the akuma. The shock made him trip over his feet, slamming him into the floor.
Adrien sucked in his breath as Ladybug landed a few metres in front of him. All his anger suddenly forgotten. Her chest was heaving and strands of hair fluttered loose from her usually perfect bunches. She had chased this akuma hard.
Adrien watched, hand clutched to his chest, as Ladybug purified the akuma; her warm little smile as she said ‘bye bye’ lit a light in his heart. He didn’t even realise he was still sitting on the floor until she walked over and knelt in front of him.
She was beautiful, mesmerising. He held his breath with wonder as Ladybug filled his vision. His heart pounded in his chest.
‘Are you okay?’ she asked. Just like that, memories and anger slammed back into his being. Tears rose in his eyes once more and his hands started to shake. She offered him her hand, her blue eyes wide with concern.
‘Do you want to talk about it?’ Her voice was low and gentle. Despite all the spying gazes of the gathering crowd, her words seemed to form a wall around them. Her eyes were for him only.
‘I-I…’ Adrien stuttered as Ladybug gently pulled him to his feet. He averted his eyes as his father’s words flashed through his head again. ‘I don’t know.’ He felt so torn.
Ladybug opened her mouth to say something but yells of excitement rang out behind them.
‘Ladybug, Ladybug!’
Both Ladybug and Adrien were jerked out of their little, walled world and back into reality as the surrounding crowd of people moved in to see their hero.
Ladybug’s hand started to slip from Adrien’s, but before the crowd could tear her away, he tightened his grip on her hand, forcing her to look into his eyes.
‘Thank you, Ladybug,’ he said, smiling sincerely.
Ladybug’s eyes bore into his. She didn’t smile. He shifted uncomfortably as those knowing blue eyes pierced deep into his soul, seeing things he wanted to hide from her.
Her hand slipped from his as the crowd swarmed them and broke them apart.
~~~
Ladybug sat perched on a rooftop. The night was dark and starless, but the city lights cast a yellow glow over the world. Her hair fluttered against her neck as she gazed down at the Agreste mansion.
One prick of light shone out from the cold, dark house; shining from Adrien Agreste’s bedroom. The boy was sat huddled on his bed. Staring blankly ahead. Just as she’d thought, something was wrong with him.
She used her yoyo to pull herself onto the mansion’s rooftop and slowly slunk down until she was above his window. Suddenly, butterflies swarmed in her stomach. What was she doing? Sneaking out to see Adrien Agreste in the middle of the night? She shook her head and tried her best to quell the butterflies. She was simply doing her job as Ladybug she tried to convince herself. But the butterflies refused to leave.
Taking a breath to steady herself, she slowly lowered herself so that she was hanging in front of his window, and knocked.
~~~
Adrien jumped when he heard a knock. His eyes widened when he saw Ladybug hanging in front of one of his windows. He hastily wiped his watery eyes and got up to let her in.
Ladybug gracefully dropped in through the window and smiled up at him. Adrien tried to convince himself that it was the sudden breath of cold, night air that rendered him speechless and not her piercing blue eyes.
‘Hi Adrien,’ Ladybug smiled.
‘Ladybug, hi.’ He felt the blood rise in his cheeks. He suddenly felt incredibly self-aware. He caught a glimpse of himself in the dark window and blanched at the sight of his dishevelled hair. He ran his hands through it in an attempt to flatten it. He hoped his eyes weren’t too red. He hoped Ladybug couldn’t tell he’d been crying.
The look on her face though indicated otherwise.
The silence lengthened between them.
Ladybug smiled, trying to diffuse the awkwardness. ‘Sorry for dropping in like this.’
Adrien smiled, but it was weak and fleeting. His heart wasn’t in it to laugh at the pun.
‘It’s always a pleasure to see you Ladybug.’
Ladybug’s smile faltered for a split second.
If he was anyone else he wouldn’t have noticed it. He cursed internally. Of course she’d see right through him.
‘I just wanted to check up on you,’ she said as if nothing had happened. ‘Today was the third time an akuma almost got you. So either Hawkmoth is targeting you,’ she joked but the smile slid off her face pretty quick, ‘or you’re not okay.’
Adrien averted his gaze and bit down on his tongue.
‘You don’t have to talk about it,’ Ladybug said, ‘but just know I’m here if you ever do.
Adrien blinked. ‘That’s nice of you,’ he whispered.
She smiled.
Adrien rubbed the back of his neck, ‘I’d rather not talk about it if that’s alright with you. But a distraction would be nice.’ He smiled shyly up at her.
She grinned. ‘Sure! What do you want to do?’
Adrien glanced around his room. ‘Do you know how to play Ultimate Mecha Strike 3?’
He felt warmth flood his body when Ladybug’s eyes lit up.
Ladybug was good. Really good. Adrien was amazed. He hadn’t taken her for a gamer. Though her fighting style did seem vaguely familiar...
While they had both been a little awkward at first, they had soon relaxed and enjoyed battling each other on the console. Their fighting was punctuated with laughter and mock yelling. They whiled away an hour like this, giggling and smashing each other to bits. Eventually though, they started to get a little tired. After one more round, where Adrien was thoroughly thrashed by Ladybug, they both flopped back onto the couch and smiled at each other. Adrien couldn’t keep the grin off his face. He felt so warm inside. He looked at Ladybug. She too looked so happy. Her cheeks were flushed and eyes sparkled. Adrien couldn’t believe his luck.
Ladybug shifted her body so she was facing Adrien, she rested her elbow on the sofa top and propped her head up.
‘How are you feeling?’ she asked.
Adrien’s smile slowly slid off his face as he remembered the reason she was here in the first place. His father’s words echoed around his head. The warmth in his heart started to fade.
‘It’s my father,’ he said quietly.
Ladybug tensed, but her eyes were filled with nothing but concern.
Adrien hesitated, but then words started to spill. ‘He’s been more strict with me than usual lately, and he’s started saying…things he’s never said before.’ He fidged with the controller in his hand. ‘I mean, he’s probably just on edge. Maybe work’s been kinda stressful recently?’ He didn’t really believe this, and he could tell Ladybug didn’t either. ‘I don’t know, ever since mum disappeared he’s acted different, but recently it’s gotten worse. And I don’t know what to do about it.' He gave a small sad shrug.
‘He shouldn’t be taking it out on you, though.’ Ladybug said.
‘I know, but what can I do?’
They both fell silent. Adrien felt an ache at the back of his head as a wave of tiredness suddenly washed over him. He yawned but was startled when Ladybug suddenly jumped up.
‘I’m sorry, I didn’t realise the time! You need to sleep,’ she said.
Adrien shook his head, forcing his eyes wide, ‘No, no its fine! I’m not that tired, really!’
Ladybug laughed, ‘I should probably be getting back anyway. It’s been fun though, I hope we can do this-‘
Adrien’s hand suddenly shot out and grabbed her’s. ‘Don’t go.’
Ladybug blinked at him in surprise. He could feel the heat rise in his cheeks as Ladybug’s wide eyes held his, but he refused to let her hand slip away.
‘Okay,’ she said simply, her expression softening. Adrien released his breath.
Still holding his hand, she climbed back onto the couch, ending up a lot closer to him than before. Adrien shifted his grip so that their fingers were entwined.
He looked into her eyes and felt his heart pump in his chest.
‘I like having you here, Ladybug.’
Ladybug's cheeks flushed. ‘I like being here,’ she said.
~~~
A Little Extra Scene
Adrien was slowly drifting off to sleep. He was so warm curled up on the sofa with Ladybug, he wanted to stay here forever and never move. However, he was disturbed when she lifted her head.
‘Ladybug?’ he murmured. He opened his bleary eyes to see her staring ahead, wide awake. ‘Are you alright?’
Ladybug bit her lip and gave Adrien a cautious glance. ‘I can’t help but think, what if Hawkmoth is targeting you?’
Adrien laughed. The sound muffled as he dug his head back against Ladybug’s neck.
‘Hey, I know I’m kinda well known but, come on. Who’d want to akumatise me?’

A Lingering Memory - Day 2: College - AU Yeah August
Sorry it's a day late!!! Also posted on my account on ff.net under marauderluverz
Day 2 – College AU - A Lingering Memory
Summary: After spending his whole life homeschooled, Adrien is finally able to make some real friends when he starts University. With the Ladybug festival approaching, Adrien wonders if he will ever get to meet the superhero he’s been crushing on for the last three years. Ladrien!
AUs: College, Homeschooled Adrien, No Chat Noir
(@auyeahaugust )
It was fall in Paris, October had rolled in quickly and with it the famous Ladybug Festival. I looked around at the beginnings of decorations being set up in the courtyard of the University. The lampposts had red and black streamers linking them, and red balloons with black polka dots were everywhere. Many of the clubs and organizations within the school were setting up booths and I smiled as I thought of how my booth would look.
Well, not my booth exactly. The booth for the Ladybug club. I had joined the week after school started, when me and my roommate Nino were perusing the list of clubs and trying to decide on one.
“What about the anime club?” I had asked.
Nino had made a face and I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Music appreciation club?” Nino offered.
I shrugged, “I don’t know if that’s really my thing.” I looked further down the list. Then something caught my eyes. “There’s a Ladybug Club?”
Nino groaned, “I thought she was joking about that.”
I looked at him curiously.
“It's, uh, well, my girlfriend set it up. So, it’s a new club. I thought she was joking when she mentioned it. Alya's obsessed with Ladybug and she runs the Ladyblog-”
I quickly held up a hand to cut him off. “Wait, your girlfriend runs the Ladyblog?”
Nino nodded, “Don’t make fun of me for it, okay?”
I shook my head. “Of course not. I’m a huge fan of the superhero and the blog. Can I meet her?”
And that was how I met Alya, and by extension Marinette. It turned out the three of them had all known each other for years. And they gladly welcomed me into their group. Nino and I became best friends due to being roommates, and Alya and I became close because of our obsession with a certain spotted superhero. As for Marinette, I wasn’t too sure how she felt about me. We seemed to get along okay, but most of the time she couldn’t even have a whole conversation with me without stuttering.
I looked around again, as I helped Alya set up the Ladybug club booth. The club had four members currently and two unofficial members.
Alya was president and she had named me vice-president. Two other guys had joined soon after, Marc and Nathaniel. Neither Nino nor Marinette had wanted to join the club but both had offered their assistance in preparation for the festival.
“Set the comics up over there,” Alya directed, “And we can put the bracelets and hats over here.”
We had decided to sell merchandise to earn some money for the club. Marc and Nathaniel had made some comics featuring Ladybug, and Marinette had teamed up with Alya to make hats and bracelets. It had been nice of Marinette to help, especially since she couldn’t attend the festival with us.
Alya had stared at her in disbelief when she told us yesterday.
“What do you mean you aren’t going?” Alya asked.
Marinette blushed, “Sorry, Alya. But you know how busy the bakery gets during the festival. My parents really need my help.”
Alya sighed and pulled her friend into a hug. “I get it. But one year you have to come to the festival with me, okay?”
“Okay,” Marinette squeaked, “and I’ll make sure I bring back some of the treats from the bakery.”
I brushed off my hands just as we finished setting up the booth. “It looks perfect!”
Alya was beaming, “Great guys! Now if you can hold down the fort for a bit, I need to do a live stream for the Ladyblog. The lighting is perfect right now.”
We sent her on her way and settled into the folding chairs we had set up behind our tables.
I found myself looking around excitedly, this time at the sky. Alya had mentioned that Ladybug was known to stop by the festivals to check them out.
“We'll for sure get to see her!”
As time passed, my excitement began to fade. We were more than an hour into the festival and there still hadn’t been any sign of Ladybug. Why did I assume she would come to our festival? It’s just a university festival. Nothing big. Nothing special. She’d probably rather attend one in the center of Paris. Somehow the evening wasn’t feeling as fun anymore. I stood from my chair.
“You okay, dude?” Nino asked, glancing up from his phone.
I nodded, rubbing the back of my neck. “Yeah, I just kind of forgot I have to work on that Physics project. In all the excitement I totally blanked.”
Nino laughed, “Dude, you can’t miss the festival. You worked so hard.”
I waved him off, “It’s all right. I got to see enough. I'm gonna head out to work on the project for a bit.”
The walk to the sciences building was cold and lonely. I still wasn’t sure how I had allowed myself to get sucked into this fantasy that I'd get to meet Ladybug.
Probably because you’ve dreamed of meeting her for so long.
Ever since the first sighting of Ladybug I'd been intrigued, but it wasn’t until I heard her speech atop the Eiffel tower that I had started to develop a crush. There was something so attractive about the fire in her as she challenged Hawkmoth.
The final straw was the day she saved me.
There was an akuma and I was at a photo shoot. She had flown in just as I was about to be hit by a stream of lava. We had rolled across the grass, landing with her on top of me.
I had stared up at her, speechless at seeing her up close. She had glanced down and upon noticing our positions, blushed as dark as her suit.
I couldn’t help but laugh thinking back to that day. Sadly, it didn’t seem like I’d ever get the chance to really meet her. She was far too busy saving Paris to socialize with me.
As I stepped into the physics lab, I shivered. Why is the room so damn cold? I looked around and saw that a window had been left open. I grumbled some complaints, making my way to the window to close it.
But when I reached the window, I froze.
There’s no way I am this lucky, I thought as I stared at the red-clad figure perched against the building. She had her yoyo hooked up onto the roof and was watching the festivities below with a soft smile.
My heart leapt in my chest. This was my chance.
“Ladybug?”
She jumped and let out a strangled yelp as she twisted around toward me.
I smiled, “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” I strained to see her face through the darkness. Was she upset that I had interrupted her? But no, that almost looked like she was… blushing?
“Adr- I mean, hello. No, I'm fine. You didn’t scare me really. I mean, I shouldn’t have been just hanging around outside the window. I probably scared you. Not that I think you scare easily. I just-” she paused, taking a deep breath. “What are you doing up here? I thought everyone would be at the festival.”
I shrugged. “I was down there before but,” I stopped. What was I going to say? I couldn’t exactly tell her I left because she wasn’t there. “I forgot I had a project to work on.” I did my best to look sheepish.
Ladybug watched me thoughtfully.
“And what’re you doing up here?” I asked. “I thought you only attend the main festival by city hall.
Ladybug looked back at the festival. “I came to check on some friends- Gah! I mean, I like to check out lots of festivals. I just don’t always make an appearance.”
Friends? Did that mean Ladybug knew someone at my university? I stared into her eyes. How was it possible for eyes to be so blue?
“Well, then I’m glad I had to come work on my project. If it means I got to see you.”
A squeak sounded from Ladybug and I realized what I had said.
“Oh, god. That sounded so weird didn’t it. I didn’t mean, it’s just,” I took a deep breath. “You saved me once and I always wanted to thank you but I never got to talk to you again and I figured you probably wouldn’t even remember me so I was just happy that I finally got to see you. And so… thank you.” I groaned internally at how lame I sounded. She probably thought I was a complete dork.
She stared out at the lights below us. “I remember saving you.”
I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in disbelief.
“Last July. The Eruptor Akuma attack.”
My jaw dropped. She really did remember me. She remembered me out of a million other people she’d saved.
She blushed. “Not that I was trying to remember you specifically or anything. I mean, it’s just that I recognized you. Since you’re a model.” Her eyes went wide and I wondered what she was thinking as she stammered her words. “N-not that I’m some kind of stalker or anything. I just-” she sighed, “I'm really into fashion.”
I could feel a warmth spread through my chest. Ladybug knew who I was. Ladybug.
“That’s really cool.”
She gave me a shy smile. “You’re really cool. I mean, you must be cool. Cold! Because the window is open. And… it's cold outside.” Her voice quieted until it was barely a whisper and I watched in awe as she tugged at a pigtail.
A thought struck me then. Was it possible that I was making Ladybug nervous?
“Were you planning on going down to the festival?” I asked.
Ladybug chewed her lip in thought. “I guess it couldn’t hurt to make a quick appearance. After all the work everyone went through.”
“You know, Ladybug? You are really amazing.”
She shook her head. “I'm nothing special. Not without my mask.” Her fingers drifted to the edge of her mask.
I looked down at my hands as I tapped the window sill. “I think you must be just as special without your mask.”
Ladybug moved closer, watching me curiously. “You really think so?”
I nodded, “Of course! It’s not like me. Everyone knows about me as a perfect model, but no one really knows me as a person.”
Ladybug reached out a hand and it brushed against my own. “I- I'd like to get to- get to know you.”
I nearly melted right there. Ladybug was telling me she wanted to get to know me. This could not be happening. I smiled, grasping her hand with my own. “I think I’d like that.”
I could’ve sworn I heard Ladybug mutter something before taking a deep breath and leaning in. She pressed her lips against mine.
I was lost in the sensation immediately. They were soft and warm and sweet. So so sweet.
She pulled back and my eyes fluttered open. “You should go enjoy the festival with your friends,” she said quietly.
I nodded dumbly and my heart leapt when she giggled. With a wave, she was gone from my sight.
I stayed where I was, enjoying the way the taste of her lips lingered on my own.
A moment later, I heard Alya screaming in the courtyard. “Ladybug!”
I could only laugh. This was the best Ladybug festival ever, and I couldn’t wait for next year.

A Fic Year in Review - 2016
It's that time again~ And I wrote so much this year, holy shit. As usual, any concrit and comments are welcome~~ (as are requests, when open lol)
January
what are THOOOOSE a superhero's holiday
Oh jeez. Both these fics got way more attention than I thought they would. But I keep underestimating the ML fandom tbh. The first was basically me goofing around and I somehow ended up promising to write a sequel since everyone wanted one (which I...still need to do.....). The second was a flag for both my descent into ladrien hell and also a return to my nsfw ways orz;;;;
February
you are gold and silver (1/2)
IT TOOK. SO. L O N G. TO WRITE THIS. Although this fic is firmly in AU territory now thanks to being beautifully jossed by canon, it helped me realize just how much I needed to grow in order to write romantic intimacy in a believable way. So, I made it my goal to work on it until it was up to my own standards.
(I...still need to finish this fic too......)
March
jackady ladrien drabble prompts (1/2):
ribbons
fan merchandise
artistic muse
make-outs
stuck in a small place
rain
smiles
croissants
never have i ever
i want to touch them
jackady ladrien drabble prompts (2/2):
damsel in distress
beauty facial masks
visible marks
ice cream sandwiches
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (1/9):
the 4 times adrien pretended to shower to hide from ladybug (and the 1 time he was actually showering when she calls out his bullshit)
disney
halloween
tried to kiss your lips but i missed
magic
staring into each other’s eyes
Ah, the plan being put into action! With the release of actual ladrien eps, I had the perfect excuse to write romantic scenario after romantic scenario using submitted prompts. Which also meant I accidentally created a secret love affair AU and wrote more smut whoops. Still, they were super fun! I took a break halfway through to write some Inuyasha-inspired marichat that just would not leave me alone (also fun).
(....I promised to write a continuation of the 'never have i ever' prompt, didn't I alrjkdsflaks. AND TANGLED AU SHIT I ALMOST FORGOT)
April
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (2/9):
music
moaning
sweat
bath
they go on a date together
soulmate au
photographs
“i love you. i’m completely and utterly in love with you. please don’t get married.”
the one time ladybug actually catches adrien in the shower
ACTUALLY in the shower
“of all the people i could’ve gotten stuck in an elevator with and it just had to be you.”
mirror
More ladrien prompts/romance practice~ The music prompt is still one the most cracktastic things I've ever written lol. Managed to make two more AUs with this batch that I've already started to expand on: the soulmate AU and the auteur AU. Lastly, in a surprise twist, the fucking elevator prompt managed to gather over 1k in notes. Probably because I ripped off Sailor Moon but. Still.
May
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (3/9):
another shower scene
porn
away from home
“you have mom’s smile.” he said this to ladybug once, but he thinks it again and again and again. but ladybug is better: she is real.
calling bullshit
untitled continuation of a comic by pozolegirl
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (4/9):
under the covers
eyelashes
mega nachos
“i heard that the spots on your bodysuit corresponds to chakra points? so… what happens if i touch this?”
cute nose/forehead kisses
their first time
happiness
“i need you to pretend we’re dating…”
“is there anything you’re not good at?”
More Volpina prompts! Again, I like experimenting with them :D Also wrote a continuation of that Christmas comic because it was just way too cute~~
June
ladrien june 2016 drabble prompts (1/6):
love poem
awkwardness
games
i can show you the world
first love
everyone can see it
shower scene
jealousy
it’s a trap
insecurities
sins cannot be undone
ladrien june 2016 drabble prompts (2/6):
jealous fangirls/boys
“you have her smile”
gabriel | hawkmoth’s reaction
it’s not you, it’s my enemies
secret dating
window kisses
Oooooh boy. The triple whammy of Ladrien June, Ramadan, and starting my summer job. I was excited to have a month dedicated to just ladrien (as if I hadn't already dedicated most of my year to it lol) but fell behind pretty quickly thanks to my lack of free time. I aim to finish them this year!
And Ramadan. Man. It always sends my mental health straight into the toilet. Not because of the holiday itself, but because of the way my family treats it. Idk. I tried to flush away the bad feelings by punching out 'sins cannot be undone' in one night. And it helped, I suppose. It's definitely the rawest thing I wrote this year and I still have very strong feelings about it.
July
three sentence prompts:
ladynoir, spy au
nino and marinette, karaoke au
ladrien, bodyguard au
ladrien, superman/lois lane au
adrien and tikki, baking au
alix and kim, and the one-time-max-actually-won au
alya and marinette, vigilante au
adrienette, foreign countries
ladynoir, and the elevator game/ritual
Between work and writing various wips that I still haven't posted yet (*coughcoughconjugalvisitcough*), I only posted stuff from this meme. I had fun (the goal) and the adrien&tikki kwamiswap AU one is still my fave |D *slams fists on table* LET ADRIEN BE A BAKER!!!!
August
untitled continuation of a comic by geek-fashionista insomaniac and the chaton pile
UMMMM My summer job ended by this point, so my only excuse for not posting much is it's all tied up in unpublished wips and...I was freaking out about starting school next month for the first time in y e a r s;;; Just some drabbles for the sidekick AU (not mine) and my own, sleep-deprived ideas (that I...still find hilarious alkdjfhalksd I DID NOT EXPECT ANYONE ELSE TO???)
September
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (5/9):
embarrassing hobbies (aka: adrien is secretly a popular ladynoir fanfic writer)
water
mlnsfweek prompts (1/3):
laughter
roleplay
make 'em blush
we've got time
"i can’t believe we survived" sex
wet dreams
virginity
STILL REALLY STRESSED ABOUT SCHOOL, which translated into a lot of writing. Did a couple of Volpina prompts, including time ≠ water. Which. Got way more attention than I expected;;;; And that I...also promised to expand on......;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
And then #mlnsfweek hit and I'm actually really proud of myself for finishing the whole week, even if it was late~ /o/ Did some random scenarios, including some futurefic for the timebreaker AU. I still cackle every time I think of the wet dreams prompt tbh XDDD
October
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (6/9):
inside a video game
horror movies
“who crawls through someone’s window at 4 am to go for ice cream?!”
aching muscles from running all over the city, and then: "would a massage help?"
chocolate
discovering their sensitive spots
“so close” from enchanted
As usual, more Volpina prompts in between school and wips. Not really much to say except it was around now (or maybe September? My memory is horrible) that I realized I had developed a pretty good grasp on romance and could start working on upping my daily wordcount. I really want the mental stamina to complete a chapter fic one day...
November
mlnsfweek prompts (2/3):
marks
School REALLY started to pick up in difficulty and I signed up for a fic exchange and a fanzine. Despite really wanting to, I didn't have time or energy to do more than one prompt for the #mlnsfweek redux, but I plan to complete it~ I have Ideas.
December
oh, the things i do for you (the bubbler remix)
volpina ladrien drabble prompts (7/9):
bruises and scars
cold hands, warm hearts
I'm never, ever committing to more than one fic deadline near exam time ever again. I nearly died last month as I rushed to complete these fics, my studying, and prep for my vacation that started right after exams (I'm still recovering;;;). The remix is currently the longest fic I've written to date, including my wips! Holy shit!!!
Both were done very last minute, but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I tried to finish the last of the Volpina prompts before the end of the year, but alas, time was not on my side. Better luck next year~ :'D
Total Year’s Output: ....58,718 words;;;
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
.......This is almost twice as much as I did last year. I actually passed the NaNoWriMo standard. Oh my god. There is no fucking way I would have predicted this last year. And that's not counting all the wips aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH—
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2016?
Uhhhh, Bustier/Mendeleiev, definitely. Also DjWifi?? I just wasn't into it at all last year, but now I'm rooting for them. Also, I did not expect to write this much smut, but here we are. ALSO MARIE/ADRIEN/MARINETTE AKA THE OT3 AKA LOVE SQUARED (the homestuck in me will never die)
What’s your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
Happy...? Hmmmm....There's stuff that makes me laugh, that I'm proud of...
...I know it's not published yet or even done, but...probably conjugal visit. Not only is it chock full of my favourite type of ladrien, it's...sort of my thesis on emotional intimacy? It's proof of my progress. I look at it and I can feel my determination to grow and to move on from the mental rut I was stuck in for most of my life, that I won't let my past keep my from recognizing my own emotions and learning empathy, not forever.
(Maybe that's pride and contentment and hope more than happiness, but I'll damn well take it)
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I ALWAYS SAY THIS but...I really want to finish my wips.....and I want to start an actual chaptered fic. Not a one-shot collection or a drabble collection. Long, plotty, gen or romance (or both!!), chapter fic. I want to write something that will keep people up all night, lying to themselves when they say 'just one more chapter'. I think I actually have a shot at completing one now, at my current skill and confidence level |D
